Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has launched a new digital initiative to ease tourist access to its destinations. The VMRDA Integrated Smart Ticketing Application (VISTA) will allow domestic and international visitors, as well as city residents, to book entry tickets for parks, tourist spots, and museums under VMRDA jurisdiction — eliminating the need to wait in long queues.
VMRDA chairman MV Pranav Gopal and metropolitan commissioner N Tej Bharat unveiled VISTA along with the TAPPALS App, designed to strengthen transparency and accountability in internal administration. Gopal said digital services are being revamped to extend convenience to tourists as Visakhapatnam develops into a major tourism hub.
Until now, tickets had to be purchased directly at venues. With VISTA, visitors can book tickets anytime, anywhere, using their smartphones, and gain entry at their chosen time without delay. The app also enables online booking of VMRDA venues and Kalyanamandapams.
Commissioner Bharat added that the TAPPALS app will digitize the internal correspondence system, ensuring greater transparency and accountability among staff. Both officials urged the public to make full use of these services.
