Sena worker, kin booked on cop’s counter plaint
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Three days after a police constable and his family were booked in an attempt to murder case, the Pundaliknagar police now registered a counter-case against a Shiv Sena office-bearer and seven of his family members for rioting and unlawful assembly, based on a complaint filed by the accused constable Nilesh Santanse.Santanse and his family members were booked for attempt to murder following an alleged knife attack on Sena functionary Vikas Uttam Narode (40). The incident took place late on Friday over a dispute related to parking of vehicles outside their homes.According to the police, the latest FIR was registered on Sunday on the basis of Santase's complaint. In his statement, the constable, who is already undergoing a three-day police custody, has alleged that Narode and his relatives assembled unlawfully and assaulted him during the altercation.Based on Santanse's, police have registered an offence against Narode and seven of his family members under sections 118(1), 189(2), 189(4), 191(2), 191(3), 190, 351(3), 352 and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police inspector Ashok Bhandare said cross-complaints from both sides indicate that the altercation escalated rapidly into a violent clash involving members of both families. "Both parties have levelled serious allegations against each other. We are investigating the sequence of events and the exact role of each accused," Bhandare said.
