Revanth to step up efforts for CBI probe into Kaleshwaram
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy-led govt has decided to intensify its efforts to press for the CBI to start its inquiry into Kaleshwaram project, following legal opinion given to him that there are no legal impediments preventing CBI from undertaking an inquiry.Revanth held a high-level meeting with irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, top officials, legal experts and also consulted Supreme Court advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Monday. Acting on the advice of legal experts, Revanth directed officials to write a letter to the CBI, requesting that an immediate inquiry be initiated into matters related to the project. Officials and ministers were also told to seek an appointment with CBI Director."Legal experts clarified that the High Court did not find fault with the establishment of PC Ghose Commission, nor did it invalidate the report submitted by the commission. They affirmed that all these remain valid," the CMO said. Earlier, the CM reminded that multiple reports, including those by NDSA, vigilance authorities, and the Justice Ghose Commission, pointed to alleged flaws in design and quality.tnn
