Raipur: Arunachal Pradesh lifter Ruba Tadu clinched the gold medal in the men's 88kg category at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 held in Raipur on Saturday. Tadu secured the top spot with a combined lift of 274kg, recording 117kg in snatch and 157kg in clean and jerk.
Andhra Pradesh's Devarakonda Prem Sagar bagged the silver medal with a total lift of 270kg. Soram Hitler Tagru, also from Arunachal Pradesh, finished third to take the bronze medal with a total of 262kg. The competition also saw participation from Daniel Jamatia (Tripura, 192kg), Alister Gomes (Goa, 152kg), Siddaboina Naveen (Telangana, 146kg), and Chhatrapal Thakur (Chhattisgarh, 130kg).
Arunachal Pradesh lifter Lalu Taku clinched the gold medal in the men's 94kg category. Taku secured the top spot with a combined lift of 250kg. He recorded 110kg in the snatch and 140kg in the clean and jerk to dominate the field. Andhra Pradesh's K P Manishankar claimed the silver medal with a total lift of 244kg, comprising 106kg in snatch and 138kg in clean and jerk.
Chhattisgarh's Viravi Khusro secured the seventh position with a total lift of 160kg in the event.
