Nalbari is an assembly constituency (No. 59) in Assam's Nalbari district, part of the Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency. It serves as a semi-urban hub covering Nalbari town and nearby rural areas, known for education and agriculture.
BJP's Jayanta Malla Baruah won decisively in 2021 with 106,190 votes (59per cent share) and a margin of 49,457 over INC's Pradyut Kumar Bhuyan (56,733 votes, 31per cent). BJP's Ashok Sarma triumphed in 2016 with 99,131 votes.
The area has strong voter engagement with around 180,000 electors and turnout often above 85per cent, reflecting a balanced rural-urban mix with high literacy.
