Kurinjipadi Assembly constituency is located in Cuddalore district. It has been a significant seat for the DMK, particularly under the leadership of veteran M. R. K. Panneerselvam. In the 2021 Assembly elections, DMK’s M. R. K. Panneerselvam won the seat with 1,01,456 votes, defeating AIADMK’s Selvi Ramajayam, who secured 83,929 votes. The margin of victory was 17,527 votes. In the 2016 Assembly elections, DMK’s M. R. K. Panneerselvam won the seat with 82,864 votes, defeating AIADMK’s Rajendran R, who received 54,756 votes. The margin of victory stood at 28,108 votes. In the 2011 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s R. Rajendran won the seat with 88,345 votes, defeating DMK’s M. R. K. Panneerselvam, who secured 64,497 votes. The margin of victory was 23,848 votes.
