Tiruppur (North) Assembly constituency in Tiruppur district falls under the Tiruppur Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu. It was created in 2008 after a delimitation process, dividing Tiruppur constituency into Tiruppur (North) and Tiruppur (South).As per the 2011 Census, the constituency has a population of 4.52 lakh and is overwhelmingly urban in character, with 93.01per cent urban and just 6.99per cent rural residents. Scheduled Castes constitute 5.41per cent and Scheduled Tribes 0.14per cent of the population.
Electorally, Tiruppur (North) has shown a strong AIADMK presence in Assembly elections, recording dominant performances in 2011, 2016 and 2021.
According to the 2024 electoral roll, the constituency has 3,93,480 voters across 386 polling stations. In the 2021 Assembly election, AIADMK’s KN Vijeyakumar won with 1,13,384 votes, defeating CPI’s M. Ravi (alias Subramanian) by a margin of 40,102 votes (17per cent).
