Pappireddippatti Assembly constituency is located in the state of Tamil Nadu and has witnessed electoral contests mainly between the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), with AIADMK maintaining a strong presence in the constituency across multiple election cycles.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s A. Govindasamy won the seat by securing 1,14,507 votes. He defeated DMK’s M. Prabhu Rajasekar, who secured 77,564 votes. The margin of victory stood at 36,943 votes.
Earlier, in the 2016 Assembly elections, Pappireddippatti had a total of 2,43,367 electors, of which 2,08,754 valid votes were polled. AIADMK’s P. Palaniyappan won the seat with 74,234 votes, defeating PMK’s A. Sathiyamoorthy, who secured 61,521 votes. The margin of victory was 12,713 votes.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,08,543 electors and recorded 1,68,731 valid votes. AIADMK’s P. Palaniappan won the seat with 76,582 votes, defeating DMK’s V. Mullaiventhan, who secured 66,093 votes. The margin of victory stood at 10,489 votes.
